Summer in Denmark 2004 photos

During the summer of this year we spent 10 days visiting Gittes mum on the west coast of Denmark. The weather was fantastic so we spent most days at the beach. We also borrowed her car and spent a night in Skagen which is at the far northern tip on Jutland, about 3 1/2 hours drive from the house. Skagen is an old fishing village famous for a group of painters that lived there from the 1870's. They moved there for the great light largely due to the fact that on either side of Skagen is water, Kattegat and Skagerrak, or otherwise, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Nowadays it's a very expensive, posh area where the wealthy from Copenhagen buy summer houses, but it's still a really nice place.
